Looking for further resources to assist your understanding on domestic and family violence? What's Ok At Home is an interactive website created by the organisation Safe and Equal (formerly known as the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria), with the goal to "help people understand what family violence is, why it happens, how to recognise it and how to help others who are experiencing it" (WOAH, 2017).
They have a large focus on sharing through videos, artwork and written pieces, many of which are created by youth who have experienced DFV themselves.
Check out this video explaining domestic violence for 14-17year olds!
There are also videos created directly for younger youth aged between 10 and 13 that use age-appropriate language to share more on domestic and family violence. Click this link to see more.
If you are seeking further help, What's Ok at Home shares resources for support, advice on how to cope as well as answers to frequently asked questions.
They also provide guidance on what to do in an emergency and outline an example of what to say when calling 000:

There are many benefits to this website so if you are searching for more help or would like to read more, make sure you give it a look. All the information is split into age categories (10-13year olds,14-17year olds and adults) so you can be guaranteed to find something useful to you, no matter what you are searching for.

That’s such an insightful read! It’s so important to talk about what behaviours are okay at home and how they shape our families. I really liked the way you highlighted setting healthy boundaries for both kids and adults. Even simple things like choosing comfy bedlinen can make home life feel calmer and more welcoming. Creating that kind of safe and positive environment truly makes a difference. Thanks for shedding light on such a relatable topic for Aussie households!
