Have you heard of or experienced technology-facilitated abuse?
Technology-facilitated abuse is where a person uses technology to cause fear or harm to a person.
For example, technology-facilitated abuse may look like:
-
Cyber-stalking (watching everything you do online)
-
Controlling who you can text or call
-
Sharing or threatening to share images or videos without consent
-
Tracking location online to control movements
-
Controlling private banking details or social media accounts

Your safety (online and in-person!) is very important...
If you feel unsafe or think you are experiencing technology-facilitated abuse, it may be helpful to let somebody know. You can talk to a friend, a trusted family member, a counsellor, a teacher, a police officer or an anonymous online helpline.
Use the Quick Exit feature
The Quick Exit feature (located on the top right corner of every page) will close the open webpage and immediately open a new Google search page. Pretty cool right? Test it out!

Clean your seach history
If you’re worried that someone else might see what pages you’ve visited, it may be helpful to clear your search history after using this site.
Use the website at school or in a public library
Did you know that public libraries have computers that are free to use? If it’s not safe to search for help at home, try using a school or library computer where your browsing history won’t be easily tracked.

Remember, if you need someone to talk to, you can try:
-
A friend
-
A teacher
-
A doctor or nurse
-
A counsellor
-
A police officer
-
A trusted adult
-
A sports coach
-
A religious or spiritual leader
-
An online helpline
